The Salmon Maternity Home

Left behind, but not forgotten

The Salmon Maternity Home is a short documentary that explores the forgotten history of Singapore's first private maternity hospital. Venturing inside the abandoned building, where decades of medical equipment and interiors remain frozen in time, the film uncovers a lesser-known chapter of Singapore's social and medical history. By documenting a place on the brink of change, the documentary reflects on memory, heritage, and the quiet histories embedded within overlooked spaces, questioning what is lost when places that once shaped countless lives fade from public consciousness
